MediaStar License Key Server for secure distribution of access keys across a LAN or WAN (797)

The MediaStar License Key Server (Model 797) is a blade-based processor module that securely distributes license keys to PCs within a MediaStar ecosystem via a LAN or WAN.

Pre purchased media access keys are factory loaded under secure conditions by MediaStar Systems prior to delivery and commissioning of the units. Each unit can support up to 10,000 keys.

Operating in conjunction with MediaStar Media Manager (model 467) and MediaStar Portal Page (model 470) software, the Key Server will issue a viewing session key to Portal Page clients that have also been authorized by Media Manager to view secure media content. When the viewing session is terminated, the keys will be released back to the key server.

The Key Server is a ‘hot swap blade’ and can be plugged into a MediaStar Multi-slot 3RU Rack (model 770) or it can be used in a free standing MediaStar Single Slot Appliance Chassis (model 769).  Two or more 797 units can be used in a failover mode for system integrity and robustness.
