Content control enabled by MediaStar
Thales Group, the Paris-based multinational that designs and builds electrical systems and serves the aerospace, defence, transportation and security industries, employs a team of 80,000 and has operations in 68 countries. A recent project was initiated that would allow the internal publishers controlling digital signage to use the same tool to broadcast on screens and across the internet. The company approached digital signage and workspace management integrator, LCS, to help.
LCS specified MediaStar Systems to help empower the content publishers to control screen content directly from Thales Group’s intranet CMS. A selection of solutions including the MediaStar chassis, MediaStar encoders, LAN-Caster Gateways and MediaStar players was supplied for the HQ in Paris and for Thales offices throughout France. This has enabled Thales’ internal content publishers to create, manage and display information suitable to different audiences in different locations.
Thales now benefits from a comprehensive digital signage set-up which provides three levels of on-screen communication across its multiple facilities. Information can be shared on all sites, and this is curated and controlled by the communication department. This allows content to be specific to the group and its audience. In essence, LCS was able to use MediaStar to build a network of players that could deliver the right message, to the right place, at the right time.
